A Lifelong Commitment to Community and Human Dignity

Campaign Priorities

Throughout his career, Ahmed Mostafa has been a steadfast ally and advocate for his community. His dedication to promoting human dignity is not just a policy stance; it's a deeply ingrained part of who he is.

  • Drawing from Ahmed’s extensive experience as a survivor's rights attorney, our campaign is dedicated to strengthening the support systems for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. This encompasses reforming legal processes to be more survivor-centered, ensuring accessible and empathic support services, and fostering a culture that believes and stands with survivors.

  • As a steadfast advocate for unity and understanding, Ahmed has actively facilitated peace and diplomacy. Notably during his time at UC Santa Barbara, Ahmed brokered the only ever signed statement between a Hillel, an American Students for Israel, Students for Justice in Palestine, and a Muslim Student Association. This experience highlights his commitment to addressing hate speech in all of its forms.

Within the current conflict Ahmed is the only candidate to call for a ceasefire and the the only candidate to without hesitation address the hate crimes against the Muslim and Jewish communities.

  • The rollback of critical tax breaks during the Trump administration has significantly impacted affordable housing development in our communities. These rollbacks led to a reduction in incentives for developers to invest in affordable housing projects, exacerbating the housing crisis, especially for lower-income and middle-class families. My commitment is to advocate for the reinstatement and expansion of these vital tax incentives. By doing so, we can stimulate investment in affordable housing, ensuring that every resident of California's 16th district has access to safe, affordable, and dignified housing options.

  • We believe that access to healthcare is a fundamental human right. Our healthcare policies aim to ensure comprehensive, accessible, and affordable healthcare for all, recognizing the intrinsic value of every individual’s health and well-being.

  • Especially as we approach the age of AI Job replacement, economic policies play a pivotal role in upholding human dignity. We are committed to advocating for fair wages, supporting small businesses, and ensuring that economic growth benefits all layers of society, not just the top echelon. Our vision is for an economy where opportunity is universal.

  • Central to our belief in human dignity requires change to the criminal justice system. Ahmed champions policies that focus on rehabilitation, address racial disparities, and end the cycle of crime and incarceration that has long plagued marginalized communities.

  • Recognizing that a healthy environment is fundamental to human dignity, our campaign places a strong emphasis on environmental justice. We are committed to policies that address the disproportionate impact of environmental degradation and climate change on marginalized communities. Our approach includes investing in clean, renewable energy sources, which is not only crucial for protecting our planet but also for achieving energy independence.

Championing a safer, more transparent future in Tech

Ahmed Mostafa is leading the charge to push for ethical responsibility and accountability in technology while promoting & protecting innovation.

  • In a digital era where deep fakes threaten to undermine our identities by misusing our own voices and images, urgent action is needed. The rise of AI-generated revenge porn and identity theft through deep fakes calls for common-sense policies. We must incentivize start-up companies to develop instant detection technologies like digital fingerprinting and create hash library databases for content verification. These innovations are crucial for maintaining the integrity of our digital identities and safeguarding personal reputations.

  • In the realm of user data protection, it's essential for Congress to advocate for legislation that reflects a global standard. We need laws that protect user data effectively while making compliance feasible for both burgeoning tech start-ups and established companies. This approach includes forging international treaties that align with robust data protection standards. By doing so, we can create a legislative framework that protects user data across borders, ensuring that strong data protection is a global norm, not just a local one.

  • The rapid advancement of technology, while boosting efficiency, poses a significant risk of job displacement. Our focus should be on harnessing technology to create new opportunities rather than facilitating layoffs. We need policies that encourage companies to prioritize efficiency alongside job creation. This includes offering incentives for businesses that use technology to expand their workforce rather than reduce it. Additionally, there's a pressing need for workforce transition and retraining programs, ensuring that workers are equipped to thrive in an evolving job market. The future of work should be one where technology complements human labor, opening new avenues for employment and innovation.
